This year marks the five year anniversary of Celgene’s Innovation Impact award program and we’re delighted that YOUR organizations helped to select this year’s theme!
Our yearly award themes come from conversations and discussions the Celgene Patient Advocacy team has with our patient and professional advocacy partners – and listening to the concerns of the community. This year was no different, although there was a slight twist. Early in 2017, the Celgene Patient Advocacy team formed a committee of past Innovation Impact winners and together with the Celgene Advocacy Council, this group contributed theme ideas; provided critical feedback; and helped us prepare for an exciting year ahead. The top theme ideas were refined and presented to the entire Patients’ Partners community to vote upon. In April, 57 organizations voted and while all three topics were appealing to many organizations, a clear winner emerged.
Optimizing Patient Outcomes Through Collaborative Decision-Making
When diagnosed with an illness or disease, there can frequently be an overwhelming number of decisions that need to be made in a short period of time. Patients managing long-term treatment plans, chronic diseases and recurrences are also faced with critical choices.
Today’s decisions often have a significant impact on tomorrow’s outcomes. How can we help equip patients, and those who care about them, with the tools and resources to understand, evaluate and confidently make decisions that may impact them in the future?
Applications may address challenges related to:
- Clinical trials
- Information sharing
- Support for caregivers in decision making
- Your idea here!
Award winning applications will demonstrate excellence in crafting innovative solutions designed to “optimize patient outcomes through collaborative decision-making” by helping equip patients, and those who care about them, with the tools and resources to understand, evaluate and confidently make decisions that may impact them in the future. We hope that even if the theme you voted for did not win, that you will still consider applying for the 2017 Innovation Impact award.
