Charitable and Philanthropic Contributions Application Requirements

Celgene is socially minded through its community-aligned grants which are awarded to qualified organizations with programs that benefit and enhance the communities in which Celgene employees live and work. The program areas given consideration include:

  • Civic and community programs or projects that enhance the quality of life in their areas
  • Global health access
  • Education including STEM-based initiatives

Requirements: In order to be eligible for a charitable contribution, any U.S. recipient organization must be a tax-exempt organization under Section 501 (c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Celgene does not support the following with charitable grants:

  • Individuals, fraternal, social, or labor organizations;
  • Organizations that discriminate for any reason, including race, religion, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and national origin;
  • Organizations and programs that are adverse to, or that may involve, a potential conflict of interest for Celgene;
  • School trips, tours, or athletic teams/equipment;
  • Organizations where there is a direct monetary benefit paid to any employee of the Company;
  • Religious organizations; and
  • Any organization (even if a legal charitable organization) for which the direct or indirect purpose is to influence any act or decision of a government official or secure an improper advantage in order to assist Celgene to obtain or retain business.
